Once a great center of knowledge, now the Great Library of Madison is now an ancient secret. The bombs sent it into a collapsed hidden underground alcove, preserving it and its tomes for all time. Fear of illness and danger keeps all citizens away. Using a secret underground passage in the city leads to its dusty, yet grand aisles of preserved texts and computer devices. Private rooms contain the dead still posed in chairs with headphones on listening to their audiobooks and watching their lent copies of History Channel documentaries. Even more curious, there can be found, deeper in the recesses of the literary tomb, cabinets full of files and newspapers on the city's once proud yet forgotten history. The hall is dark and dank like a tomb, but if you're brave enough and have the skill for adventuring, perhaps you could venture into it's halls of great knowledge. After all, these tomes and relics could fetch more than a fair price and maybe even free the minds of your people. |
